Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress in the film industry, TV and on stage since the latter part of 1970. She has been a professional actor for 27 years. She first appeared on the stage in the off Broadway production called The Big Funk written by John Patrick Shanley, in 1990. As a character in The Perfect Tribute, she played her first role on television a few years after. In 1992 she got her first big break by playing a secondary character in the movie Basic Instinct. Then, in The Firm, she played the leading female character for the first time. She was cast opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman.
